Homework 15/11/19

Homework 15/11/19

Please complete pages 26-27 of the Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling book (Present Tense and Past Tense). Remember that reading records will be checked on Monday – keep reading over the weekend and make sure that this is recorded and signed in reading records. (Please also date the record as this makes it much easier to find the correct page!) The children should all have a library book that they have chosen in addition to their book band / free reader…

Homework

Homework

CGP reading book: please read and answer questions for the first text. Suggested answers are in the back of the book. It would be great if you could spend time working through this and marking it with your child. Your child is not expected to bring it into school – please keep the books at home. I will set new CGP questions each week, alternating between reading, maths and SPaG. We have checked reading records and some children are missing…

Dojo reward time tomorrow

Dojo reward time tomorrow

Tomorrow from 11 – 12 we will have our class dojo reward time.  The children have voted to bring in games, toys and small electronic devices (hand-sized) to play with.  Please be aware that they are responsible for these and that they bring them in at their own risk – so please don’t send in anything that is very valuable or fragile.  If your child doesn’t have a toy that they wish to bring in, they will be able to…

Just to let you know that Mrs Addison will be teaching Hedgehogs class this morning (Monday 14th) as I am at an East Hampshire English meeting.  I will be back in class for the afternoon.

Please continue to make time to read with your child for 10-15 minutes every day. This can be any text of their choice (a book, magazine, internet article), as long as the level of challenge is appropriate for them. A visit from Ringo the hedgehog…

A visit from Ringo the hedgehog…

I’m sure you have already heard that we had a spiky visitor in Hedgehogs Class this week! Ringo the albino pet hedgehog came to visit our class on Thursday afternoon. It was definitely the highlight of our week! Thank you so much to Laura Bates for organising this for us, and to her friend Kerry who is Ringo’s owner. Photos to follow soon…

PE on a Friday this week

PE on a Friday this week

Apologies for the late notice but we will have our PE lesson on Friday afternoon this week, not tomorrow. Please still make sure your child has their kit in school on both days, just in case there is a last minute change of plan! Over the next few weeks we may often be swapping PE from a Thursday to a Friday so it would be a great help if children could keep their kit in school during the week. On…

Workshare and Meet the Teacher

Workshare and Meet the Teacher

As you know, we have a workshare and Meet the Teacher event on Friday 29th September from 8.45am.  In Hedgehogs, we are extending this until 10.15am, to allow you more time to find out about the class, and also to give you the chance to try out a fun maths problem with your child.  If you are not able to stay until 10.15, please don’t worry – I appreciate that not everyone will have an hour-and-a-half to spare.  Any children without their own adult to work…
