Today’s special person is slightly different. As it is our last day today for a while, we have thought about why each person in our class is special. Here are our ideas… Thank you Hedgehogs for being such special superstars!

Here is our new hedgehog mascot, today christened Sonic Jeffery the Hedgehog after a democratic vote! Sonic is particularly speedy when it comes to knowing his times table facts. If you are making great progress in learning your times tables, you may well find that he comes to spend the day sitting on your desk! We are learning about fractions in maths. Please discuss these words: numerator (top number = how many parts we have) denominator (bottom number = how many parts altogether) unit fraction (fraction where the numerator = 1) non-unit fraction (fraction where the numerator is more than 1) Please also discuss why a fraction with a smaller denominator (e.g. 1/2) is a greater amount than a fraction with a larger denominator (e.g. 1/4).
